After having collaborated on various singles and released their own solo projects throughout the pandemic, rappers marciano, el joven and Jeynu finally joined forces to release Transatlántico, an EP where they flex their creative muscles while playing around with different genres. Transatlántico starts with its title track, a rock inspired hip hop tune that sees both artists flexing on the beat. Afterwards “Bonsai” sees both musicians exploring the fields of reggae and dub mixed with a bit of lo-fi. Then “Alquimista” finds them reconnecting with their lo-fi hip hop roots. Finally, the project closes on “Batusi”, an experimental fusion of electropop, Caribbean sounds and autotune fused lo-fi as marciano and Jeynu promise to travel outside of their comfort zone now and in the future.
In conclusion, Transatlántico is a short project that displays how marciano, el joven and Jeynu complement each other and how they’re unafraid and unwilling to stay within the confines of the comfort zone they’ve found in lo-fi hip hop.
