your pop version served as the gateway
& now it seems that i’m all in for hardcore & your post form & now more than ever you can be the most influential idea out there as more & more people try to be independent with their art & businesses. it’s interesting to see how you were once seen as scum, but now you’re so beloved.

i remember discovering it as a teen
& serving as the art form i wanted to do at first. that’s how i started writing, writing lyrics for potential rock bands. to this day it serves as a goal, record as many music projects as possible get all those dreams out there. a lack of communication,
a problem we share across the entire caribbean & the entire world. al igual que en la maestría,
i still feel like i barely contact you. i love y’all cc, pero no separo el tiempo pa’ estar con ustedes & i punch myself like ken giles cause i fail to be the person i want to be. if people look at the way i use the word “love”
they might think i use it loosely & that it might lose its power, pero what can i say? i just like to express it especially in these weird times where it feels like it isn’t expressed enough. what a weird way to start a friendship,
but it did. i never really thought we’d build it to something like this. i just thought it would be a business thing, pero que bueno saber que i have new people to count on, people i can also call friends, loved ones. adventures captured via oral history
& later shared with the people, a tradition that has been adapted to different mediums. comics making comics
& i applaud them as they play around with different sides of the creative mind. i remember those days as a teen
trying out stunts inspired by the jackass crew & the dudesons trying to make a movie & upon reflection i can definitely say it was all about attention, but also about being creative & sustaining a friendship. sadly, only one of them is still very strong today. basketball, football, boxing, skateboarding,
the main 4 that caught me as a teen, but now as an adult i try to digest a bit of all aunque sean highlights &, inevitably, that’s where some of my muses come from & where many of my numbers come from be it jerseys or records or dates or whatever. sports, sports, sports, sports like that tim & eric song & that josh potter tune playing on my head on loop as i write more & more poetría every single día. we thought this type of thing
was only seen in sci-fi movies, but look at us now. what a time to be alive, am i right? fantasy lands engulf our minds
& we just want them all to come true, but this capitalist-driven world makes it all so difficult. luckily, certain avenues are making it a little easier & we just gotta take advantage till the system can be changed. oral communication from home
turned into mobile into texts into games into access to the web & more & more & more & more. it’s an interesting thing to see, the evolution of the phone. an addiction to it all.
an addiction to the likes. an addiction to the shares & retweets. an addiction to constant discussion. an addiction to it all. back in the day
you were see as the ultimate form, the ultimate evolution in the arts, but it seems that you’re getting stuck in the past & other mediums are passing by you like a final lap on rainbow road. i guess we’ll have to help you along the way & continue to help you grow & adapt to the current times. we used to escape in you
simply for the fun of it, but now the stories pull us even more. now you have both the fun fun & the story fun. it’s all great & we’ll continue to welcome your evolution. changes brought
in the snap of a finger. everything is moving much faster than before. what a time to be alive where in a click, clack, click, clack you can find out everything there has been created in the history of mankind. life can be such a cartoon at times.
at one point we’re doing what seems to be like the most important thing ever, but on another we’re simply doing dumb shit like old ren & stimpy toons. how i miss you,
dear friend. i wish i could be floating right beside you, dear friend. but the workforce keeps me away from you, dear friend. hopefully, i’ll see you soon, dear friend. barbershop chronicles
never go old. barbershop relaxation never goes old. barbershop, barbershop, everything’s good at the barbershop. fast food generation
consuming art, media & entertainment like fast food never processing it fully, only few do & they just add to the neverending newsfeed. are we affecting each other or is it a new form of the old school? guess we’ll have to let time define it all. are we humans or animals?
we try to act high & mighty saying that we are human above all, but that often escapes us & our animalistic side takes over as we destroy the lives of others with a mere click, click, clack of the keyboard. oh how i wish i had more mornings like this one
full of love with my wife, full of art & productivity with my work, full of feeling complete, but they are few. so i try my best to document it so i can remember how great it felt in those days where life is gloomy. another day in the books
& i reflect if it was productive at all: did i create something new? did i make meaningful connections? did i display enough love? did i connect with my loved ones? was it productive at all? days keep flying & keep asking these & more questions by the end of ‘em. |
