After constantly delivering various singles across 2021 and 2022, singer-songwriter Gerald comes back with a more complete project in Simulacro, an EP that finds him exploring sounds outside of his comfort zone while expressing his upcoming goals. Simulacro starts with “Iniciando el simulacro (Intro)”, a sound collage of different audios that serve to prepare audiences for what is about to come. Afterwards, “Campeón” is a trap track with a hypnotic sample that finds Gerald displaying his rapping and singing skills. Then “Vacía” is a love-inspired reggaetón track where the singer-songwriter can show off his vocals. Next “Ponte ready” is another love-inspired reggaetón track that allows Gerald to expand on what he explored in the previous track while adding some synthpop elements. Finally, “Fin del simulacro” closes the project with a similar vibe to the project’s intro.
In sum, Gerald’s Simulacro is a short project that serves as a reminder of Gerald’s presence while showing listeners the different sounds he’s been exploring as of recent.
