After delivering singles across the years starting off in 2016, salsa group Onda Moderna finally released their debut EP LMQTA (La Moda Que Te Acomoda) in 2022, a project that displays many of their influences while staying true to their salsa roots. LMQTA starts with “Mujer”, a heavily danceable salsa number that fuses elements of pop and rock. Afterwards, “A mitá” is a song that displays the group’s many Latin influences from bomba and cumbia to salsa and merengue. Later, “Amor de Embuste” displays elements of R&B fused with world music as the group continues exploring the subject of love. Next, “Subo Al Cielo” fuses elements of salsa, reggae, funk, and jazz to create another unique arrangement. Subsequently, “La Cosqui” is a collaboration with José Luis and Joshua Marcell that delivers yet another very danceable salsa number that’ll have generations moving their feet. Finally, the project delivers “Feibú – Merengue Version”, a merengue song that takes a look at how people often use social media. Generally, Onda Moderna’s LMQTA is a great display of how the group mixes their salsa roots with many other genres to deliver unique arrangements that’ll have listeners moving their feet across the dance floor.
