the one you’re reading right now is completely inexpensive. heck! it’s a free poem just like much of the entertainment we consume daily.

After starting his career with a variety of singles ever since 2019, rapper and singer YUNG BOI finally makes his full-length debut with what seems to be the first part of a much larger project in chico joven vol. 1, an album that serves as an encapsulation of his sound and what he’s willing to explore. chico joven vol. 1 starts with “feka”, a collaboration with pabloboah that mixes trap and R&B with lo-fi aesthetics. Afterwards, “5am” is another mix of R&B and trap soundscapes, but this time with some psychedelic visuals as the musician uses them to display his storytelling abilities. Next, “Supongamos” finds Jovaan and Joedyyrt joining the mix in another love-driven track. Subsquently, “memorias” serves as a display of BOI’s reggaeton flow as he presents another love-driven track. “too much </3” starts the second half of the album as YUNG BOI mixes his emo trap aesthetics with some hypnotic acoustic guitar samples that’ll definitely connect with a broad range of listeners. Then Channeland Joedyyrt join in “se me olvida”, an interesting exploration of love and memories across an entrancing beat that blends bass heavy trap and synth pop. Finally, the project closes with “el nivel”, a short collaboration with Fara that shows some banger potential.
Overall, YUNG BOI’s chico joven vol. 1 is a nice love-driven project that finds the musician presenting his blend of R&B, reggaeton and trap to a broader audience while collaborating with various artists. we all have a level of importance,
but at the same time we don’t. humbleness & ego often clash whenever we come across this dilemma where importance is discussed. in reality, some topics will be important than others, but sometimes those others contribute to the “most important” one. it’s an interesting yet difficult predicament we frequently encounter, but that one that needs solving like a puzzle. After starting his career with a variety of singles in 2019 and moving on from there till releasing his EP DÉJÀ VU in 2021, SHARIF RAFAEL continued releasing more tracks till earlier this year when he released a new EP titled UNDERGROUND KING where he remains displaying his versatility over a variety of sounds. UNDERGROUND KING kicks off with “44”, a fantastic boom bap production that finds the young musician reflecting on his young career while expressing his goals alongside a little bit of flexing. Then, “LA MALA” presents RAFAEL’s reggaeton flow in a love-driven tune. Next “ABILITY” serves as another display of the musician’s skills on a reggaeton beat, but this time a much more upbeat one. Subsequently, “MEMORIA” shows RAFAEL blending his rapping and singing abilities in a mix of R&B and melodic trap in another love-driven song. Finally, “SECRETO” serves as yet another display of RAFAEL’s mastery of the reggaeton sound as he seamlessly sings over the beat.
Overall, SHARIF RAFAEL’s UNDERGROUND KING is a short display of SHARIF RAFAEL’s skills over boom bap, reggaeton and R&B production as he shows his versatility while also paying homage to the sounds that fulfill him. to them
some things might seem impossible, but that’s just cause they’ve never been outside these streets. they can’t imagine bigger places out there even though they see them across the web, but that’s the thing. they just see them on the screen & they seem fantastic, too out there. a few trips outside of their town might help ‘em expand their vision so they can imagine bigger, more imaginative lands. After starting his career in 2020 and 2021 with a variety of EPs (Gigi and clasico) and albums (demasía and 30 monedas de plata) that displayed his interests in alternative and experimental pop and R&B, young musician Uno Santo starts 2022 with amane, another EP that continues to display his love for pop and the avant-garde. amane starts with “misa misa”, a fast-paced electronic tune that blends this sound with Uno Santo’s R&B vocal tracks. Afterwards, “difunto sin nombre” finds the young musician his R&B vocals on what feels like an anime rock-inspired soundscape. Next, Joven join in “dos semana”, which closes the first half of the project in an experimental mix of reggaeton, jungle and acoustic sounds alongside Joven. “morto” starts the second part of the EP, an experimental tune that shows Uno Santo’s willingness to go full avant-garde. Subsequently, “inrii – Special Version”, a collaboration with Afonso that finds both rapping over an experimental instrumental that plays around with psychedelic/lo-fi reggaetón. Finally, “escondite escondite” is a collaboration with Julio Angel and Taiana that shows the young musician closing on a more radio-friendly track this mixes R&B with psychedelic trap vibes.
Overall, Uno Santo’s amane is a short, but fantastic display of his seamless balancing act of pop-driven sounds and more avant-garde-driven experimentation that sets him apart from everyone else in the scene. it was tough seeing you
living through such a terrible illness. i try not to focus on that last image of you. it brings too much pain. i’d prefer to remember those days full of smiles & music where you danced & laughed with family by your side. As one of the most active hip hop artists on the scene, Ebano Flowlanski showed his workflow in 2021 by releasing a variety of projects and 2022 seems like it won’t stop him as he recently released his third project this year in the form of UNDERGROUND 3, another beat tape that continues to show his mastery of the boom bap sound while displaying his storytelling abilities and willingness to go outside of his comfort zone. The first part of UNDERGROUND 3 features the tracks “Ella Me Odia”, “Blunt Con Chopin”, “Punto Chinita”, “Queen Lust”, “Low Rider”, “1000 el G” and “Metodo Avispa”. These tunes display Ebano’s storytelling, sequencing, and his understanding over the classic boom bap genre. In addition, he manages to play around with psychedelic, trap and experimental sounds that make this project different from others he’s released recently. Afterwards, “Jerly Curl Anthem”, “Blunt Power”, “Status Vedette”, “Bliky Man”, “Let It Be Known”, “Ke Kiere Muzik” and “Presiona El Boton” serve as the second part of the project. These tracks kick off with a hypnotic boom bap loop as they continue to explore what seems like the story or thought process behind this beat tape: an introspective look at one’s status in the industry. At the same time, Flowlanski manages to display influences such as salsa, soul, and electronic music. Meanwhile, the closing track serves as a perfect closure that encompasses not only the sonic thesis, but also the thought process behind the entire production.
Overall, Ebano Flowlanski’s UNDERGROUND 3 is a demonstration of his command over boom bap while exploring different sounds and looking into his status in the industry despite his amazing workflow. they try to escape
all the hurt they experience by making jokes about themselves. “Angelito”: Enyel C Provides an Excellent Presentation Letter to Those Outside of His Following5/2/2022 After catching some traction with his single “Santini” back in 2018, Enyel C continued releasing singles and EPs (Newborn Pleasure! and UNDERGROUND 99) where continued to expand his sound. Recently, the Puerto Nuevo musician released his debut album Angelito, a project that finds him establishing his sound while presenting himself to a broader audience. Angelito kicks off with its title track, a tune that finds Enyel C showing some of his lo-fi boom bap influences mixed with R&B, synth pop and bedroom pop vibes while capturing a bit of what it feels like to be a person who wants to be a master of all trades. Afterwards, “Polaris” serves as a lo-fi hip hop and trap blend that shows his ability to make a banger. Then Yensanjuan joins the party for “Nash”, a song that finds both artists flexing about their greatness over a bouncy beat that feature some hypnotic guitar strings. Next, “Bienpuestopaltike” serves as an experimental, almost freestyle-like track that finds Enyel C exploring a different vocal inflection while presenting what feels like a weed trip. Subsequently, the first half of the album closes with “Angelito y Robertito”, a hypnotic psychedelic boom bap collaboration with Robertito Chong that displays the artists’ seamless chemistry over some smooth-as-butter production. The second half of Angelito starts with “Io No C”, a collaboration with YUNG BOI that finds them exploring love over some trap-driven production that gives off pop punk vibes. Then “Ta To” shows Enyel C singing over some reggaeton sounds alongside Diego Raposo in a very catchy track. Later, “Honey” displays the musician’s ability to mix his traditional rap-driven sound with rock soundscapes as he pays homage to his cat Ringo. Finally, the project closes with “Hola! Remix”, a collaborative dance banger with Irepelusa that feels like a bonus track in the same way those after credits scenes from the MCU that serve as a cherry on top of a fantastic experience.
Overall, Enyel C’s Angelito is a perfect amalgamation of the young musician’s work. It is a project that will make his following happy and proud while inviting newer listeners to his already established world of lo-fi hip hop, alternative trap, R&B, and unique aesthetics that will receive many replays on my part. hunger reigns
upon a community that’s struggling to continue on their everyday life. horrible circumstances follows these children
as they try their best to get out of these crime & drug-ridden streets, but sadly not all of them are lucky enough to find the light at the end of the tunnel. |
